关于启动2024年西湖大学弘毅奖学金评选工作的通知
为激励学生培养探索精神和实践创新能力，奖励资助本科生团队（或个人）结合学科知识开展创新实践项目，根据《关于开展西湖大学2024年暑期社会实践的通知》，结合《西湖大学弘毅奖学金实施细则》（附件1，见文末）中的有关条例，现组织开展2024年度西湖大学弘毅奖学金评选工作，具体如下：
一、参评对象
2022级和2023级在校本科生。
二、奖励资助标准与名额
弘毅奖学金主要用于奖励优秀本科生组织参与的创新实践项目。2024年弘毅奖学金奖励资助金额为4万元，具体奖励资助项目的数量及方案由评审委员会根据实际申请情况评审确定。
三、评选流程
1. 立项申请：2024年6月11日前
根据《关于开展西湖大学2024年暑期社会实践的通知》通知，学生可以个人或者团队形式提出立项申请，填写《弘毅奖学金资助创新实践项目申请表》（附件2，见文末），并交至个人或团队负责人所在学院/书院，其中2022级学生需将申请表交至所在学院，2023级学生需将申请表交至本科生书院。学院和书院老师联系信息如下：

2. 学院/书院推荐：2024年6月19日前
学院/书院根据申请个人或团队提出的立项申请进行研究，提出并填写推荐意见，将电子版和签字盖章后的纸质版《弘毅奖学金资助创新实践项目申请表》（附件2）和《院系弘毅奖学金资助创新实践项目推荐汇总表》（附件3，见文末）递交至学生事务部。
3. 立项评审：2024年6月28日前
“西湖大学弘毅奖学金”专项评审委员会开展立项评审，确定资助立项项目、学生名单及其奖励标准。具体评审时间、地点将在后续通知。
4. 项目开展：2024年7月至8月
立项评审通过的项目在学院/书院的指导下组织开展创新实践活动。
5. 项目验收：2024年9月
项目结束后，个人或团队需撰写《弘毅奖学金资助创新实践项目总结报告》（附件4）和开展必要的成果展示。各学院/书院负责对项目的执行情况进行验收，并出具优秀、合格或不合格的验收意见，将电子版和纸质版《弘毅奖学金资助创新实践项目总结报告》及验收意见提交至“西湖大学弘毅奖学金”专项评审委员会审议。
6. 奖学金评审：2024年10月初
项目验收结果为优秀和合格的，提交学校奖助学金评审委员会审议，审议通过并经不少于5个工作日公示无异议后，正式获得弘毅奖学金。
四、其他事项
1. 正式获得弘毅奖学金的学生或团队原则上应采用财务报销而非现金的形式发放，报销应符合学校相关财务规定，报销额度不超过立项金额。学生需开具留存各种发票及流水账单，以供报销使用。
2. 弘毅奖学金是项目资助性质的奖励，可与国家（省政府）奖学金及学校的其他学年奖学金兼得。
3. 各学院和本科生书院应组建学生奖（助）学金评审委员会或工作小组，坚持公开、公平、公正的原则，严肃、认真细致地做好各项有关工作及评审工作。

Notice on the 2024 Westlake University
Hongyi Scholarship Selection
To encourage students to cultivate the exploratory spirit and develop practical innovation ability, reward and support undergraduate teams (or individuals) to carry out innovative practical projects combining disciplinary knowledge. According to the “Notice on 2024 Summer Social Practice” and relevant regulations in the “Implementation Rules of Westlake University Hongyi Scholarship” (Appendix 1), the selection of 2024 Westlake University Hongyi Scholarship is organized as follows:
1. Evaluation Objects
Undergraduate students enrolled in the academic year 2022 and 2023.
2. Awards and Quotas
The Hongyi Scholarship is aimed at rewarding and supporting innovative practical projects organized by outstanding undergraduate students. In 2024, the scholarship will provide a funding amount of 40,000 RMB. The specific number and award details of the funded projects will be determined by the evaluation committee based on the actual applications received.
3. Selection Procedure
(1) Project Application: Before June 11, 2024
According to the “Notice on 2024 Summer Social Practice”, students can apply for the project individually or in teams and fill in the “Application Form for Hongyi Scholarship Funded Innovative Practical Project” (Appendix 2) and submit it to the respective school or Westlake Residential College through the team leader or individual applicant. For students in 2022, the application form should be submitted to the respective school, and for students in 2023, the application form should be submitted to the Westlake Residential College. (2) School/ Westlake Residential College Recommendation: Before June 19, 2024
The School/Westlake Residential College should review the project applications submitted by individuals or teams, provide recommendations, and submit electronic and hard copies of the signed and stamped “Application Form for Hongyi Scholarship Funded Innovative Practical Project” (Appendix 2) and “Summary of Recommendations for Hongyi Scholarship Funded Innovative Practical Project” (Appendix 3) to Office of Student Affairs.
(3) Project Evaluation: Before June 28, 2024
The “Westlake University Hongyi Scholarship” Special Evaluation Committee will evaluate the projects applications and determine the list of funded projects, awarded students and the amount. The specific evaluation schedule and location will be notified later.
(4) Project implementation: From July to August 2024
Projects that have passed the project evaluation are organized to carry out innovative and practical activities under the guidance of the School/Westlake Residential College.
(5) Project Acceptance: September 2024
After the completion of the project, individuals or teams are required to fill in the “Summary of Recommendations for Hongyi Scholarship Funded Innovative Practical Projects” (Appendix 4) and conduct necessary project presentations. Each school/Westlake Residential College will be responsible for evaluating the implementation of the project and providing acceptance feedback as excellent, qualified, or unqualified. The electronic and hard copies of the “Summary of Recommendations for Hongyi Scholarship Funded Innovative Practical Projects” and the acceptance feedback should be submitted to the “Westlake University Hongyi Scholarship” Special Evaluation Committee for review.
(6) Scholarship Evaluation: Early October 2024
For project that receive an “Excellent” or “Qualified” result in the acceptance process, it will be submitted to the University Scholarship and Financial Aid Evaluation Committee for evaluation. After the evaluation is approved and a public notice period of no less than 5 working days has passed without any objections, the project will officially be awarded the Hongyi Scholarship.
4. Others
(1) Students or teams officially awarded the Hongyi Scholarship should, in principle, receive the scholarship in the form of financial reimbursement rather than cash. The reimbursement should comply with the relevant financial regulations of the university, and the amount reimbursed should not exceed the project award amount. Students are required to issue and retain various invoices and receipts for reimbursement purposes.
(2) The Hongyi Scholarship is a project-based funding award and can be awarded in conjunction with national (provincial government) scholarships and other annual scholarships offered by the university.
(3) Each School and Westlake Residential College should establish a student scholarship evaluation working group to ensure the principles of openness, fairness, and impartiality, and do all the relevant work and assessment work in a serious, conscientious and meticulous manner.
